Meet the team Monday – Meet Israel Ott, LVT
- How long have you been a part of the AMC team?
I became a part of the AMC team when I was 15. I started by volunteering then worked as a kennel care team member until after high school. I went to school to receive my degree as a licensed veterinary technician and came back to work at AMC. I have been here for 7 years with the exception of a small break.
- What drew you to this profession?
My love and passion for animals led me to a career where I can help and comfort them.
- What is your favorite part of your job?
It’s hard to choose my favorite thing as I have a few, but I love working with this group of people that are my second family, I love learning new skills, and I love being able to hold and meet so many different animals.
- What hobbies or interests do you enjoy outside of work?
I have many hobbies including: swimming, scuba diving, traveling/exploring, playing with my nephew, binge watching “Friends”, baking, and chillin’ with my pets.
- What pets do you currently have at home?
I have :
2 dogs, Neffy and Hiccup, 2 ferrets, Niko and Frosty, a rabbit named Ey-bony(Ebony), and 7 cats – Isis, Smush, King, Blizzard, Littles, French Fry, and Fancy Rat.
- What would a perfect day at AMC be like for you?
A perfect day would end with all of our appointments have a happy and fulfilling ending where every pet and their owner’s needs are met.
- What is a perfect day for you outside of work?
Getting my errand and cleaning DONE! I would then spend the evening watching “Friends” and spending some quiet time with my hubby.
- If money were not a factor, where would you choose to spend the rest of your life?
Hawaii!! I would become a marine biologist and scuba dive all the time!
