Dr. Mica Rendon
Veterinarian
Dr. Rendon was born in Colorado, but grew up in the south where she obtained a bachelor's degree in Biochemistry from MIssissippi State University (MSU). She then continued on at MSU to earn her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine. After graduation, Dr. Rendon relocated to San Diego, CA and then here to Charleston, SC to join her husband who is stationed here with the US Navy. Her interests in veterinary medicine include soft tissue surgery, preventative medicine and fear free practices. When not working, she enjoys hiking, bouldering, and knitting as well as training their cat, Doug.
Dr. Sean Hanley
Veterinarian
Dr. Sean P. Hanley has been working with the team at AMC since 2021. Dr. Hanley received his BS in Animal Science from North Carolina State University in 2007 and his Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2012.
After veterinary school, Dr. Hanley pursued his dream of living in Alaska and spent his first few years practicing veterinary medicine in the cities of Fairbanks and North Pole. His professional interests include companion animal preventive medicine, internal medicine, and dermatology.
In his free time, Dr. Hanley enjoys working on his small farm in Summerville with his family.
Elizabeth Chastain, LVT
Licensed Veterinary Technician, Team Leader
Elizabeth has been with the AMC team since 2004, with a small "stay at home mom break". She was promoted to our lead supervisory technician in 2021. She loves working with our surgical patients and spicy feline patients the most.
Elizabeth has two children: Allie and Blake and six animals: Eve, the dog and five cats: Maximus, Felina, Figaro, Sebastian, and Rikka. In her spare time she loves spending time with her family exploring state parks, reading, embroidery, and playing the bass clarinet.
Cassie Wassenaar,LVT
Inventory/Pharmacy Manager
Cassie joined the AMC team in June 2017 after moving here from Las Vegas, NV. She is originally from Indiana, but has lived in many places due to being in a military family growing up. She currently lives in Goose Creek with her husband, Larry, 7 cats, 1 dog, and countless fish.
She has as A.S. in Veterinary Technology from Pima Institute. She has worked as a part of our technician team, as our boarding director, and currently manages our inventory and pharmacy.
Cassie’s favorite things are her cats and furthering her knowledge of veterinary medicine. When she is not working, her hobbies include playing video games, aqua scaping, and spending time with her pets.
Hope Breland
Veterinary Assistant/Reception
Hope joined the AMC team in June of 2021. She is a Charleston native! Hope has 4 dogs at home –Gunner, Robin, Whiskey, and River and a cat -Callie.
Although Hope began working for us as a veterinary assistant, she couldn’t resist spending time with our reception team as well because they are so much fun! When she is not working, she enjoys live music, cooking, and gardening.
Victoria Alexander
Veterinary Assistant
Victoria has been part of the AMC team since 2020. She is currently an online student working on her degree as a veterinary technician. Victoria has 1 human child as well as 2 cats, 2 dogs, and 3 rabbits.
In her free time she likes to read, play video games, and craft. Armadillos are her favorite animal.
Devyn Robeson
Veterinary Assistant
Devyn joined the AMC team in June of 2021 after moving to South Carolina from Illinois. She received her Associates in Animal Sciences from Rockford Career College.
When she is not at work, Devyn is a very busy full time dog mom to her Australian Shepherd, Jordan. He does dog modeling and sponsorships! He loves hanging out with all his doggy daycare friends and bringing Devyn along. She also loves spending time with her human family and nail art.
Carmin Starkey, LVT
Licensed Veterinary Technician
Carmin joined our team in the fall of 2022 with 15+ years of experience. She is a 2012 graduate of Stautzenberger College in Brecksville, Ohio.
She loves to spend time at the beach, exploring new places and foods, hiking, horseback riding, shooting, and spending time with her dogs. Carmin has three pets: two chihuahuas, Lily and Jackson and a giant schnauzer, Athena.
Rachel Christman
Licensed Veterinary Technician
Rachel joined our team October of 2022 and we’re so lucky to have her! She is a graduate of the Veterinary Technician program at Trident Technical college. Rachel is originally from Ohio and has been living in South Carolina for 7 years now and is loving it!
She has had the passion to work with animals her whole life and ensures that every animal she sees in the clinic gets the cuddles they deserve. She has a fur baby at home, Miso, a lovable little cat.
Brittany Wiltz
Veterinary Assistant
Brittany joined our team in August of 2023. She is originally from Washington State and currently resides in Goose Creek. She is a student at Penn Foster College working on her veterinary technician degree.
She has 2 boxers and a bearded dragon at home. She loves working with brachycephalic breed patients. Her hobbies include biking, maple donuts, and everything Disney!!
Celeste Farley
Office Manager
Celeste joined our team in January 2017. She is a Goose Creek native!! She still lives here with her daughter, Josie and two dogs – Lincoln and Biscuit. When she isn’t at work staring at Charli, she likes rodeo clowns, monogramming, and making fishing lures from lint. Her favorite animal is a sloth.
Charli McGrew
Receptionist
Charli joined our team in August 2020. She is originally from New Jersey. She currently resides in Moncks Corner with her 4 dogs, 3 cats, snake, and frog. She really loves helping our clients find the right resources to help their pets. She also loves working here to spend time with her work bestie, Celeste.
When she isn’t working, Charli spends her time cruising, square dancing, and playing pickleball.
Naomi Fortner
Receptionist
Naomi joined our team in June 2022. She lives in Goose Creek with her son, Andrew and dogs, Pita and Cooper. When she is not at work she loves reading, salsa dancing, and spelunking. Her favorite animal is a seahorse.
Wallis Lankau
Therapy Dog
Wallis joined our team in 2020. She is a certified therapy pet as well as an AKC Rally dog. This girl has more ribbons than than you can shake a stick at!! She is always there to snuggle all the AMC team members when they need it or to supervise at Puppy Playcare.
In her free time, Wallis enjoys pug meet-ups, tricks, and sitting under her brother, Fergus.
Grace Gable
Receptionist
Grace joined our team in 2024. She is originally from Blythewood, SC. When she is not here at AMC, she is spending time with her husband and daughter. They have 2 dogs, Lassie and Sadie. She loves fishing and uses Celeste's homemade lures. She also collects sombreros.
